Online + Hands-on Skills

Description:

The AHA HeartCode BLS course is a blended learning option that combines online coursework with an in-person skills test. Unlike the traditional BLS Provider Class, which is completed entirely in a classroom with an instructor, HeartCode BLS allows students to complete the cognitive portion online at their own pace before attending a shorter hands-on skills session. Both courses provide the same AHA BLS Provider certification.

Audience: Nurses, EMTs, dental and medical staff, and students entering healthcare

What You'll Learn: 

• High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants

• AED use

• Choking relief

• Basic life support skills following current AHA guidelines

Requirements:

• Proof of online course completion must be provided before taking the In-Person Skills Test

• Textbook is not included

Steps:

1. Register for the in-person BLS Skills Check

2. Complete the online AHA HeartCode BLS course

3. Provide proof of course completion before your skills appointment

4. Attend and successfully complete the in-person skills test

5. Receive your AHA BLS Provider eCard by email within 24–48 hours
